Treasurer Beverly provided the board with further detail: she said the Village received about $99,000 from motor fuel tax funds for sidewalk work and described a separate grant award in the $250,000 range; CJ noted Phase 1 engineering and costs now total roughly $312,000, which creates uncertainty over the local share. Several trustees and audience members said contracts and grant paperwork were not presented consistently to past boards and urged a new procedure requiring multiple board members, including the treasurer, to review contracts prior to signing. Trustees did not make a final determination at the meeting but directed staff to assemble contracts, designs and funding documentation for follow-up review.
