Marlborough board outlines bridge, park and ballfield projects; pickleball courts planned

Supervisor Colleen Corcoran told the board that the Buckley Bridge is scheduled for repair and that a new well has been drilled at the Cluett Shantz Memorial Park ball fields. A portable garage will be built near the fields and four pickleball courts are planned by the pavilion, the supervisor said. Renovation and fencing of a donated garage at Sands Avenue Park will proceed, and the town plans to add a natural tree line to screen an adjacent eyesore.
At Milton Landing, the town will paint and stain the docks, and the state plans to place solar-powered monitors and sensors in the water to gather information. Supervisor Corcoran also credited the Recreation Committee for planting flowers around town and noted that blacktop work for the Highway Department project depends on available funds and may be delayed until next year: "The Highway Department project is just about finished. The landscaping and blacktop are the only items left to do."
