The Hillsboro Community Unit School District #3 Board on April 14 voted unanimously to award the Beckemeyer Elementary roof replacement project to D7 Roofing.
Tim Downen of Hurst-Rosche reviewed two bids received at the April 9 opening and recommended the low bidder; the board approved a base bid of $888,628 and alternate bid #1 for $52,000. Motion made by Nathan Kirby, seconded by Kassie Greenwood to award the bid for the Beckemeyer roof project to D7 Roofing for the base bid of $888,628 and alternate bid #1 for $52,000. On roll call the following voted yes: Matt Lentz, Brian Patton, Bill Christian, Blake Furness, Kassie Greenwood, Mike Cerutti and Nathan Kirby. Motion carried 7-0.
Board members said they were satisfied with the bid review and funding plan. The district indicated the project will cover the gym, cafeteria and approximately five classrooms; funding sources for larger summer projects were identified as sales tax and an Energy Transition Grant earlier in the meeting. The contract award finalizes the procurement step; the district did not specify a construction start date in the meeting materials.
