Board accepts multiple resignations, approves hires after executive session

The Hillsboro Community Unit School District #3 Board of Education accepted a string of personnel actions following an executive session called for personnel and litigation that began at 8:09 p.m. and ended at 10:55 p.m. Motions to accept resignations for Girls Golf Coach Son Clayton, Bus Driver Tim Thompson, Bus Aide Susie Irvin, Library Assistant Kelly Powell, Teaching Assistant Kelsey Bulla and Junior High Cheer Coach Jessica Furness were approved; motions were made by Nathan Kirby and seconded by Kassie Greenwood.
The board also approved a retraction of Cook Andrea Harston's resignation, authorized Vanessa Compton as a girls flag football volunteer coach and employed Mignon Biggs as a special education teacher. Where roll call votes were recorded the actions carried 7–0. Superintendent McBrain presented the personnel items during the open session that followed executive session.
