The Hillsboro Community Unit School District #3 board heard a series of school updates at its March 10 meeting, with principals highlighting recent student achievements and upcoming events. Principal Frailey reported that Mrs. Hamman’s fifth-grade STEM team competed at Lincoln Land Community College with a ten-step Rube Goldberg project, and Principal Lipe said lighting and sound work is nearly complete for the Operetta.
Principal Lipe announced, "Graduation date has been set for May 22nd at 8:00 on Sawyer Field." Principal Haston said staff and students are preparing for I-Ready testing, noted a TikTok reward for nine students after a recent challenge, and reminded the board that Spring Fling is scheduled for March 20 (6:30–8:30) and that track begins March 16 with roughly 75–80 student participants. These routine updates were presented for the board’s information and no board action was required.
