Council names new commissioners, recognizes long‑service city employees

The chair read nominations and reappointments (Janet Bingman to the Tulsa City‑County Health Department board; Julie Minor to the Route 66 Commission; Carl Bracey reappointment to the Tulsa Development Authority; Danny Williams reappointment to the Tulsa City‑County Library Commission) and the council voted to confirm the slate.
Julie Minor, who spoke briefly after her appointment was announced, thanked the council and commission staff: “I’ve been on the Route 66 bandwagon for several decades now, and the fun never ends,” she said. Earlier in the meeting city staff and council recognized individual employees for milestone service years ranging from 20 to 40 years, naming employees in water & sewer, fire, police, parks and other departments. The council emphasized appreciation for long-term municipal staff who “make the city run every day.”
