Public works representative CJ reported replacement options for the village backhoe'radial tires at $500 each versus regular tires at $275 each, and batteries at about $125 apiece. After discussing cost and expected lifespan, trustees voted to authorize up to $1,500 to buy two tires and two batteries.
"Radials were five hundred a piece and regulars were two hundred and seventy-five each," CJ said, explaining the tradeoffs in durability and price. Trustee Dees moved to cap the purchase at $1,500 and Trustee Nelson seconded; the motion passed unanimously. The parts will be purchased as soon as practical under the approved limit.
