Trustee Watson said the practice during his prior board service was to have committees meet on an as-needed basis and then present recommendations at the regular meeting. "I personally don’t believe we need the committee meetings," Watson said, moving to end them; Trustee Broccardo seconded and the motion passed. Mayor Tony Pezze and the board agreed public presentations or complex construction projects will still be placed on the regular agenda so the full board can act.
The change means engineering and other project updates that previously might have been discussed in committee should now appear on regular meeting agendas; Chastain & Associates confirmed it would place construction items on the board agenda going forward.
