During the public hearing, applicant representative Tyler Knauss said the applicant accepts conditions and would explore options, including public‑private partnerships, to address road concerns. Neighbors Ben Worley and Heath Smith opposed the application, stating traffic and road‑safety problems near the site. In rebuttal, Knauss told the commission the applicant would pursue improvements if approved.
County Attorney Chris Jackson advised amending condition 7 to specify road work "as required for commercial usage under the Gordon County ULDC," language the commission adopted. Vice‑Chair Kevin Cunningham moved approval with that amended condition; the motion passed 4‑0 after Commissioner Kurt Sutherland had exited to abstain on the item.
The Planning Staff recommended approval; the county Planning Commission had voted 4‑0 to approve the permit with conditions. The minutes record that the applicant must meet the stated conditions before building additional chicken houses and that staff and the applicant will address payment and implementation of required road improvements.
