Seguin ISD holds public hearing on 2023-24 Texas Academic Performance Report

Trustee Denise Crettenden opened a public hearing of the Seguin ISD Board of Trustees on Feb. 25, 2025, at the districtboard room in Seguin. Cynthia Borden, director of federal and state accountability, presented an overview of the district2023-24 Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR) and other required reports, and she answered trustees' questions. The meeting was called to order at 6:17 p.m. and adjourned at 6:30 p.m.
Borden told trustees that Texas Education Code 39.053 requires each district board to publish an annual report that includes the TAPR, the PEIMS Financial Standard Report, district accreditation status, a report on violent and criminal incidents, and information received from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board under TEC 51.403. She said an electronic copy of the report is available on the district website at https://www.seguin.k12.tx.us/page/required.home and on the Texas Education Agency website at https://tea.texas.gov/texas-schools/accountability/academic-accountability/performance-reporting/texas-academic-performance-reports. The presentation included updates on campus performance objectives and progress toward House Bill 3 goals.
No formal votes or policy actions were recorded during the public hearing. The board received the report and engaged staff in questions about the documents and next steps for public access and review. The hearing concluded and the meeting adjourned at 6:30 p.m.
