SDDOT awarded $24 million BUILD grant for South Veterans Parkway; Sioux Falls share $2.2 million

During the Secretary’s Report on July 23, SDDOT staff announced the Department was awarded a Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) grant of $24 million for the South Veterans Parkway project. The announcement noted the City of Sioux Falls will receive $2.2 million of that discretionary funding to supplement the Department’s federal formula funds.
The grant was reported as discretionary funding intended to supplement formula allocations and support the South Veterans Parkway project; no formal Commission action beyond acknowledgment was taken at the meeting. Staff indicated the funding will be applied in coordination with the City of Sioux Falls and project scheduling will be managed through the Department’s project development office.
