The New Ashford Select Board voted July 20 to place new lending libraries near the Town Hall mailboxes so they stay accessible and are plowed in winter. Mark Phelps moved to place the lending libraries; Ken McInerney seconded and the motion passed.
Board members and residents praised benches, picnic tables and planters crafted by Maria Welch. The board discussed installing a gazebo on the central lawn; Sheds and Stuff did not respond with an estimate, so Chair Jason Jayko will follow up and Road Commissioner Keith Lacasse said he could prepare a fabric-and-stone base, with Mark Phelps offering silo staves if needed.
