The New Ashford Select Board on July 20 appointed three people to leadership roles in the town’s volunteer Fire Department. On motions by Mark Phelps, seconded by Ken McInerney, the board approved appointments of Gary Sagendorph as deputy chief, Jeremy Knox as captain and Lance Beauchamp as EMS deputy, each for one-year terms.
Board members said the Fire Chief submitted the recommendations in advance. The board noted that annual CORI (criminal offender record information) checks for department personnel still need to be completed. No vote tallies were recorded in the minutes beyond the motions and seconds approving the appointments.
