The Transportation, Infrastructure, Energy and Environment Committee moved CR 60 (World Car Free Day 2025) out of committee with a favorable recommendation.
Chair Olsen introduced the resolution, saying it “expresses Prince George's County support for declaring encourage individuals to use forms of sustainable transportation rather than driving an automobile.” Vice Chair Harrison moved the recommendation and Council member Dornoga seconded. The motion carried, 3–0.
The resolution is an expression of support and does not itself create new requirements; sponsors said it is intended to promote alternatives to single-occupancy vehicles and to raise awareness. The committee did not attach conditions or technical amendments to the measure during the meeting.
