Town clerk sets early-voting schedule and board appoints state poll workers

Laurie West, the town clerk, told the Select Board the town will open in-person early voting beginning Saturday, Aug. 22 to prepare for the Sept. 1, 2026 state primary and asked the board to set hours and appoint poll workers. "The early voting hours beginning in person on August 22, which is a Saturday," West said, and provided a schedule that would coincide with the clerk's public hours.
The board voted to adopt the proposed early-voting schedule, authorized the town clerk to work with the police chief on necessary police details under the state statute cited in the motion, and appointed Elizabeth Murphy, Alice Bisbee and Catherine Caiola as state election workers. Chair (speaker 2) and committee members supported the motion by voice vote. The board also signed the primary warrant to notify qualified voters of polling locations and times.
