Manager Kathy Thake told trustees recent conversations with Cook County officials had indicated grant applicants who demonstrate long-term commitment through passed resolutions have stronger chances of receiving Invest in Cook funding. She emphasized approval of the resolution authorizes application submittal but does not obligate the Village to complete Phase II if not funded.
Thake said Cook County could approve a portion of requested funds, potentially covering up to 50% of Phase II design engineering costs as a demonstration of support. The board voted unanimously to authorize the submittal and thanked staff for the work preparing the application.
