Kenilworth board approves three omnibus items and joins Cook County 'United Against Hate' pledge

President Kaz read three items for omnibus consideration: surplus IT equipment, use of MPI contractual pricing with Everlast Blacktop Inc. for the 2026 Warwick Road curb replacement (estimated $32,000), and a Memorandum of Understanding with the Cook County Sheriff's Office. Trustees asked clarifying questions about the hard drive status of disposed IT equipment and the effect of the Cook County MOU on Kenilworth Police operations; Management Analyst Jordan Schmidt and Police Chief Donicio Silva answered those questions to the board’s satisfaction.
Barbara Cornew, district director for Cook County Commissioner Scott Britton, outlined the Cook County "United Against Hate" campaign, its origins and participating organizations, and urged approval of a resolution to join the pledge. After one public speaker called the resolution unnecessary, the board approved the pledge by roll call, six votes to none.
Trustee Hannus moved to approve the resolution; Trustee Lojkovic seconded. President Kaz asked Ms. Cornew to convey the board's appreciation to Commissioner Britton.
