Marlborough board approves SEQRA negative declaration for $100,000 ARPA park improvements

The Town of Marlborough Town Board voted to accept and authorize the Supervisor to sign Short Environmental Assessment Forms Parts 2 & 3 and issued a SEQRA Negative Declaration for park improvements funded through an Ulster County grant tied to ARPA funds.
The grant, described in the contract as $100,000 from Ulster County, will fund energy-efficient field lighting (four new poles and LED lights and electrical upgrades at Young's Park; five new poles and LED lights, outfield fencing, an expanded backstop and infield work including a pitcher's mound and league-appropriate bases at Cluett Schantz Park). The SEQRA paperwork concluded there would be no potential significant environmental impacts requiring a Draft Environmental Impact Statement.
Deputy Supervisor Appler moved to accept the SEAF parts and allow the Supervisor to sign the documents; Councilwoman Sherida Sessa seconded the motion, which carried (Yeas:4; Nays:0). A roll call recorded Councilmembers Molinelli, Cauchi, Sessa and Zambito voting Yes; Supervisor Scott Corcoran was listed as absent.
The board authorized the Supervisor to file the Negative Declaration and related SEAF parts with the Ulster County Department of Finance so grant funds may be disbursed under County Grant No. 2023-00000699.
