Clerk/Register Jamie McClain told the board that grant funding has been received for February and August Early Voting and that the county received the February presidential reimbursement. She said Early Voting begins Oct. 26 and that Court Security will be staffed for Early Voting and Election night, per sheriff's office staff.
McClain reported she received notice from District Health Department leadership (MDHHS Director Jody Schlaufman) that, under that body's bylaws, Brandon Gabriel is ineligible to serve on their board because he is an elected official; she has re-advertised the two open MDHHS board positions to fill the vacancies.
The clerk's report was presented as information; the board did not take a separate vote on the clerk's report.
