Lieutenant Michael Gammicchia updated the board on sheriff's office operations, reporting plumbing problems in the jail that are being remedied and that two new Corrections hires and a new secretary have started and "are doing well." He said command staff will attend a yearly conference next week and that Court Security is staffed for Early Voting and election night.
Gammicchia also announced community events supported by the department: the Flee & Elude 5k/10k at 10:00 a.m. on Oct. 26 starting at the county building, and Boosterpalooza hosted by Grayling Youth Boosters the same day at Grayling Eagles.
The lieutenant's update framed staffing progress and building maintenance as ongoing operational matters; the board did not take formal action on the report.
