Consumers Energy, NEMCSA and Region 9 AAA brief county commissioners on reliability, services and aging programs

Consumers Energy representative Rich Castle presented the utility’s Reliability Roadmap and its Wildfire Risk Mitigation Plan to the Crawford County Board of Commissioners during the Aug. 22 meeting. The presentation also noted local partnerships and upcoming community events organized with the Chamber of Commerce.
Frances Ommani of NEMCSA delivered the nonprofit’s annual report, and Laurie Sauer of the Region 9 Area Agency on Aging gave an overview of the agency’s programs and local service pressures. Commissioners heard about rising demand for senior services, staffing vacancies at the Commission on Aging and plans to recruit volunteers. Rich Castle said, "Consumers Energy is partnering with the Chamber on two events," and gave dates for the Better Business Brunch and Empowering Women’s Brunch.
The presentations were informational; no formal board actions were taken on the reports. Commissioners recessed shortly after the presentations and later resumed the agenda.
