City advances Lions Park shoreline design with state and Lake Erie Commission support

Staff told the committee the city received permission at the July 27 commission meeting to enter a design contract with SmithGroup for Lions Park shoreline improvements and that design is roughly 30% complete. "On the July 27 meeting of city commission, they give us permission to go into contract with Smith Group to design the improvements to the Lions Park shoreline," the presenter said.
Staff said the project has funding from a Lake Erie Commission grant that supports design and part of construction, and additional state funds have been secured with help from state representatives. The project will aim to increase water access, add habitat and make nearshore improvements; staff plans a public on-site meeting near 60% design for community input.
