Long Lake tables decision on formal farmers' market authorization to allow further coordination

The Town Board on March 25 voted to table Resolution 2026.23, which would have authorized the Long Lake Farmers' Market to operate on Town property for the 2026 season and exempt participating vendors from obtaining individual Town peddling or vending licenses under the umbrella authorization. Supervisor Clay J. Arsenault requested the item be held for further discussion with Market Coordinator Ruth Howe; Councilman Thomas L. Donnelly moved to table the resolution and Councilman Nathan S. Hosley seconded. The motion to table passed unanimously.
Under the resolution as drafted, the market would rely on an annual attestation from the Market Coordinator confirming umbrella liability insurance; exempted vendors would still need to comply with applicable state health and fire codes. The board directed that the item be revisited at the April regular meeting.
