Long Lake Board schedules March 25 public hearings on three proposed local laws

At its Feb. 25 meeting the Town Board scheduled public hearings for Proposed Local Law Introductory Nos. 1–3 of 2026. The three items are: a Best Value Procurement law to permit awarding some contracts based on best value (excluding public works subject to General Municipal Law §103); a modernized Peddling, Soliciting, and Mobile Vending law addressing food trucks, veteran fee exemptions, and private events; and a replacement Dog Licensing and Control law clarifying preemption by State standards and assigning fee authority to the Town Board.
"A public hearing on the Proposed Local Law shall be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2026," the resolutions state. The Town Clerk was directed to publish notice in the official newspaper, post the notices on the Town website and signboard, and make the proposed laws available for public inspection; written comments will be accepted until noon on the hearing date.
