The Crawford County Board of Commissioners on Feb. 13 authorized payment of claims across multiple county funds, with the Total General Fund payment recorded as $828,040.05. The motion to authorize payments was made by Commissioner Lewis and seconded by Commissioner Frederick; the motion passed on a roll-call vote of present commissioners.
County officials read fund-by-fund totals into the record, including Central Dispatch Fund $231,587.54; Road Patrol fund $47,067.23; Inmate Commissary Fund $27,809.38; and Indigent Defense Fund $80,992.65. The board also received the Budget Performance Report for the period ending Jan. 31, 2025, which showed overall revenue up compared with last year while interest revenue is down and specific items such as court costs and jail lodging reimbursements are lower than last year.
Controller Paul Compo briefed the board on budget trends and noted that building security costs are now fully covered by the general fund, while jail and bailiff expenses have increased. The report encouraged commissioners to review department-level variances as the fiscal year progresses.
