Pasco Schools details Gulf High rebuild and Gulf Middle construction timeline

Pasco County Schools staff told the council about recent and ongoing capital projects funded in part by Penny for Pasco. Deputy Superintendent Betsy **** described the Gulf High project as a full rebuild moved next door rather than a renovation, and said that Gulf Middle is undergoing a complex phased construction while students remain on campus.
Betsy **** said the district expects phase 1 of Gulf Middle to be complete enough for staff to be in the new building by Jan. 4 with students following Jan. 5, and asked city council members to join a preview walkthrough in September or October. "Moving the furniture into a middle school...the staff official 1st day in the building, January 4, and then January 5 would be the students being at the school," the deputy superintendent said. The district cautioned that finishing touches and some demolition work would continue after the initial move-in.
