The Edmond Planning Commission voted unanimously to forward a zoning-map amendment for 930 East 2nd Street, Z26-00013, to the City Council for final consideration on Aug. 24, 2026.
City planning staff (Mr. Bryan) told commissioners the subject parcel is approximately 3 acres and that the proposed Central Plaza Planned Unit Development would allow multi‑family residential, restaurants, offices, a convenience store, event space and health-and-beauty uses. "The subject property for the Zoning Map Amendment is approximately 3 acres," Mr. Bryan said, and staff recommended approval because the proposal conforms to the plan's university-neighborhood designation. The staff presentation noted the proposal would increase the maximum dwelling units by 19, from 133 to 152, and that no changes to building footprints, parking or utilities are proposed at this stage.
No members of the public spoke in opposition during the hearing. After brief commissioner questions, the commission approved the motion to forward the rezoning to council by a 5-0 vote. The item will appear on the City Council agenda Aug. 24, 2026 for final action.
