Highway Commissioner Kyle Walter reported operational updates to township trustees, saying, "We have gotten roughly half our salt that was contracted for this year." He described steps taken to manage winter operations, including the use of an inmate crew for sanding, painting and cleanup work and routine maintenance such as changing scraper blades and greasing equipment.
Walter said the township has taken delivery of a new truck (referred to as truck #14) and recently paid $3,750 for a new hood for the pressure washer, which he said "will be well worth it." He also reported installation of a weather station from Frost Solutions intended to help the township adopt more proactive winter-response measures.
