Parks & Recreation director previews summer events: Bed Races, Music by the Lake, Community Pride Day

Parks and Recreation Director Alex Roalsvig told the board the 4th of July Bed Races will return, Music by the Lake will run again, ballfield improvements are planned, Memorial Day and Community Pride Day (May 6) are scheduled, and staff are arranging lifts to repair the large flagpole at Mt. Alex Roalsvig, Long Lake's Parks and Recreation Director, addressed the board on April 29 with a summary of upcoming events and maintenance plans. Roalsvig said the 4th of July Bed Races are returning, the Music by the Lake concert series will continue, ballfield improvements are planned, Memorial Day preparations are underway, and Community Pride Day is scheduled for May 6. He also reported plans to rent lifts to repair the large flagpole at Mt. Sabattis Recreation Area and to hang military banners.
Roalsvig noted the department is planning for summer staffing and referred the board to packet materials for additional details. Separately, Highway Superintendent Michael Lamphear announced Spring Cleanup dates of May 4–May 15 and said forms will be available at the Town Clerk's office. These operational dates provide timing for residents to prepare for spring cleanup and for Parks & Recreation to coordinate summer events.
