The Long Lake Town Board on Jan. 28 approved CHA Consulting’s December 17, 2025 proposal as the basis for hydraulic modeling of the Long Lake (SW2) and Raquette Lake (SW1) water districts, adopting an initial not‑to‑exceed fee of $89,800. The proposal lists $56,700 for the Long Lake model, $24,300 for the Raquette Lake model and $8,800 for NYSDOT coordination; the Board authorized the Supervisor to negotiate a contract that documents any reuse of the Town’s legacy model to reduce scope and cost.
Town documents filed with the meeting state the New York State Department of Health, through regional engineer Marlene Martin, has advised the Town that hydraulic modeling studies for both districts are necessary to address longstanding system deficiencies. The Board also authorized charging costs to the water district operating accounts SW1.8310.400 and SW2.8310.400 with an initial allocation not to exceed $24,300 to SW1 and $65,500 to SW2 pending contract adjustments.
Supervisor Clay J. Arsenault and staff said CHA’s scope includes data gathering, model construction and calibration, hydrant flow testing, simulation of current and future conditions, identification of priority improvements, and a technical memorandum, plus up to 40 hours of coordination with NYSDOT. The Board required that any contract increases above $89,800 return to the Town Board for approval.
Next steps include finalizing the contract with CHA, documenting reuse of legacy model files where feasible, issuing a purchase order that reflects any negotiated reductions, and coordinating modelling work with NYSDOT and DOH.
