Committee approves multiple Transfer Station capital projects, amends scale description

Thomas J. Faggione moved and the committee approved a new capital project for $860,000 (bonding) to purchase vehicles for Transfer Stations 1, 2 and 3 (Project No. 67). The committee also approved Project No. 68, a $200,000 request that includes $80,000 in State reimbursement for equipment used at the three transfer stations.
Project No. 64 — $650,000 (bonding) — was approved for replacement, reconstruction and repairs at Transfer Station #1, including tipping-floor building systems, scale house and office improvements, and water treatment system work; the committee classified these as Type II SEQRA actions. Project No. 65 ($375,000 bonding) for inbound/outbound scale and building work at OCTS #1 and OCTS #3 was approved after Barry J. Cheney successfully moved an amendment to change the phrase "Inbound Scale" to "Outbound Scale." Finally, Project No. 66, a $50,000 request, was approved to expand the CDA area and increase MSW and recycling service capacity. Committee discussion included a question on model years for vehicles; Erik Denega replied that "it could be 2026 or 2027." All motions carried unanimously.
