Councilor Conant asked whether city staff had gone to all liquor licensees to gauge interest in the proposed social district. City Manager Kirk Beattie said he had met with a few business owners and confirmed that outreach had begun.
Joia Hughes, Economic & Housing Development Director, said she 'walked around downtown to all the businesses and gave them a copy of the last meeting minutes and the map.' Hughes told the committee that 'some business owners had some concerns, but she feels the committee has already addressed them.' No comprehensive roll call of licensee support was recorded in the meeting transcript.
