Cherry Valley public safety: drone subscription, officer training, ICAC MOU and drug seizure reported

Trustees approved multiple public-safety items to forward to the Village Board and accepted the Chief’s operational report. Trustee Scott Kramer moved to send to the Village Board approval for a one-year subscription for a Skydio drone ($2,592.48 from line item 5377P); Trustee Pearse seconded and the motion carried by voice vote. The Committee also approved sending three officers (Sergeant Jones, Officer Erickson and Officer Turkes) to a Glock Armorer Certification Course on August 7, 2025, at $300 per officer ($900 total) from Training/Seminars 5195P.
Trustees also voted to forward an agreement to join the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force through the Office of the Illinois Attorney General to allow a Cherry Valley officer to assist in ICAC investigations. The minutes record that all three motions were carried by voice vote.
During the Chief’s report, Deputy Chief Jesse Pearse said, “The 4th of July events were successful and without any issues.” He also reported, “During a recent traffic stop, Patrol Officer Nance confiscated over 1.2 pounds of cocaine.” Those operational details were recorded in the open minutes; no arrests, charges or additional case details were provided in the Committee minutes.
