The Town Board approved routine business items at the Aug. 6 meeting, including minutes from the July 16 workshop and the July 16 board meeting, bills as submitted by the director of finance, prepaid warrants and purchase orders. Those motions were moved, seconded and passed by recorded aye votes.
The board also moved to appoint Shelley LaRocca as the school tax collector for the 2026–27 school year for the portions of town properties in the Wayne Central School District; the appointment was approved by unanimous vote.
As part of board business the members accepted a resignation from the Board of Assessment Review (Sarah Nowak) and authorized creation of a temporary member position. The board debated whether to vote on Local Law No. 3 (vehicle and traffic regulations) at the same meeting; the board agreed to defer that vote to the Aug. 20 meeting to allow additional time for comment and consideration.
Parks and Recreation recycling authorizations listed on the agenda were approved and the board adjourned before 08:30.
