Public works staff said the 2027 request trims capital improvements for town hall and town court while the town completes a reassessment of its five‑year capital plan. Keith, the presenter for building maintenance, told the board the town has been more "reactionary than we are proactive" and expects to return in 2028 with a more funded plan.
Keith said the reassessment has shuffled items on and off the list and emphasized the town will continue some reactive repairs in the near term while preparing a more deliberate capital schedule. "we are in the middle of reassessing our 5 year capital plan," he said, adding that when the updated plan arrives the town will identify funding more appropriate to its goals. The board did not take a formal vote; staff will return with a revised capital program once the five‑year review is complete.
