Staff outlines plan to amend city cannabis ordinance to mirror alcohol license allowances

City staff told the Planning Commission they are restarting work to amend the local cannabis ordinance so the allowable number of cannabis establishments reflects the number of alcohol licenses the city has. Kelly said staff had circulated a first draft to the former city attorney and is asking the current attorney to locate that draft so work can resume.
"So this is just an update on the amendment to the cannabis ordinance," Kelly said. She told commissioners the concept was introduced four or five months earlier and that staff will bring a revised draft forward after the attorney review. No action was requested at the meeting; the item was informational so staff could later present ordinance language to City Council if the commission favors it.
