Chief Cathy described the agreement’s FY2027 term and a 120‑day written‑notice opt‑out clause for either party. She told council that, if approved by the city, the IGA would next go to the county commission for their consideration and execution once both parties sign. The council moved to approve the IGA; the subsequent roll call vote was unanimous.
Council thanked the fire chief and staff for advancing the negotiations and keeping a contract in place ahead of negotiations. The IGA’s approval begins staff steps toward county negotiation timelines and the city’s budgeting discussions for the next fiscal year.
