Two new directors sworn in; Marsha named board chair

The Coquille SD 8 Board of Directors swore in two new members and voted to confirm leadership for the 2025–26 school year.
At the start of the meeting new directors repeated the oath of office. Sharon Nelson stated her name as part of the swearing-in and Kayla Pritchard followed: "I, Kayla Pritchard." Both signed the required paperwork after the oath.
A nomination was made to elect Marsha as the board chair for 2025–26. After discussion about whether to retain the incumbent or rotate leadership, board members proceeded with a roll-call style confirmation and approved the chair and vice-chair nominations. The motion to approve the slate of governance items, including officer appointments and meeting schedule, was moved and seconded and carried by voice vote.
