The Coquille School District 8 board approved items 7.1–7.4 by motion and voice vote and then approved item 7.5, the South Coast ESD Local Service Plan (LSP), following a short presentation by Paul Peterson of the South Coast Education Service District. Peterson told the board the LSP was unchanged from last year, had been reviewed and approved by area superintendents and the ESD board, and allocates about 95% of resolution dollars to tier‑2 services with roughly 5% for tier‑1 core services such as homeschool registration and audiology testing.
Paul Peterson said: “The local service plan on your agenda tonight is unchanged from the LSP you approved last year,” and explained that the LSP was vetted by the region’s 10 district superintendents and approved by the South Coast ESD board. Board members discussed whether they would receive a copy; district leaders said the plan is identical to last year’s version but offered to provide detailed copies on request.
The transcript records motions moved and seconded and voice votes in favor; one board member (S7) asked for an amendment approach during the meeting but the final recorded outcome was approval of 7.1–7.4 and separate approval of 7.5.
