Trustee Mike Neville moved (Trustee Sally Hollembeak seconded) approval for four Public Works employees (Jarred Block, Jeff Hartzell, Maggie Palcan and Jesse Reno) to attend the Illinois Public Water Supply Operator Association (IPWSOA) Conference in Springfield on Sept. 10–11, 2025. The motion included lodging and meal allowances of $1,616 from line item 5200 Water and registration costs of $980 from line item 5195 Water, for a total of $2,596.
On the public-safety side, Trustee Scott Kramer moved to approve Patrol Officer Jared Bunge’s attendance at the '2025 Midwest Traffic Safety Conference' in Itasca (Nov. 4–6) with registration $350 and meals $150; trustees also approved a 'Duty-Driven Deterioration' workshop delivered by Law Enforcement Coaching at Cherry Valley Fire Station No. 2 on Aug. 13 for $1,500. Deputy Chief Jesse Pearse reminded the committee National Night Out is scheduled for Aug. 5, 2025, from 5:30–8:00 PM.
