The Village of Cherry Valley Recreation Board on June 25 reviewed this year’s Fourth of July parade and noted a lower-than-expected turnout. According to the meeting record, “This year’s 4th of July Parade had a low turnout; the weather was hot and muggy and it rained all morning.” The recap was entered in the meeting minutes recorded by Deputy Village Clerk Heather Riley.
Board members said fewer classic cars appeared than in prior years and recommended promoting the parade earlier in the summer to encourage more entries and spectator attendance. No formal follow-up motion or funding request for promotion was recorded in the minutes.
