Public commenter urges zoning change to allow auxiliary housing
Summary
At the Feb. 5 Planning Board meeting, resident Tina Zagyva urged changes to zoning to allow auxiliary housing on lots with existing residences, framing the change as a way to provide additional needed housing.
Tina Zagyva addressed the Joint Comprehensive Planning Board on Feb. 5 to ask that local zoning be revised to permit auxiliary housing on lots that already have a primary residence. Jan Tighe recorded that Zagyva presented the change "to provide additional and needed housing."
Board members did not take action on the request during the meeting; the comment was entered into the record as part of public participation. The minutes note attendance of six board members and three members of the public; any formal zoning change would require a future agenda item, public hearing and, if applicable, changes to zoning maps or local regulations.
