The Sun Valley Mayor and City Council on July 9 adopted Resolution 2015-16 authorizing the mayor to execute an agreement for legal services with Hall, Render, Killian, Heath & Lyman, P.C., amended to specify a rate of $300 per hour and a cap not to exceed $3,000 in total. Council Member Jane Conard moved to adopt the resolution with that amendment; Council President Keith Saks seconded the motion. The roll call vote recorded ayes from Council President Keith Saks, Council Members Peter Hendricks, Michelle Griffith and Jane Conard; there were no nays.
The action followed a brief discussion among council members and staff about the scope and cost of outside counsel. City Administrator Susan Robertson participated in the discussion. The resolution establishes authority for the mayor to execute the agreement under the specified hourly rate and total cap; implementation and any future changes will require council action or another formal amendment.
