The Coquille School District 8 board approved a request from the Booster Club to construct a covered structure next to the concession stands to support cooking and fundraising activities.
Superintendent Wayne Gallagher described the proposal and said the Booster Club would pay for the construction; the district would own and maintain the structure once built. Board members confirmed the structure would be mounted on a concrete slab. "They're putting it on a concrete slab," Gallagher said. A motion by Steve Britton to approve the Booster Club's structure was seconded and passed without opposition.
Board staff indicated the district will forward the Booster Club’s plot map to the city to determine whether a building permit is required. The board treated the matter as an action item and approved it during the meeting.
