Towne Centre construction advancing, Morrisville engineer says

Mark Spagnoli, Morrisville Town's director of engineering, said in August 2026 that construction at the Towne Centre is progressing, with underground utilities now in place and the Foxglove Drive extension taking shape.

Spagnoli, speaking on-site from Towne Green, described the park's layout and amenities under construction, including an amphitheater adjacent to Town Hall Drive, additional playgrounds and walking paths that will surround the green. He said the vantage point makes it possible to see multiple project elements at once, including the library and the parking deck for the nearby multifamily housing.

"We've done a lot of underground infrastructure there, stormwater piping, sanitary sewer piping, water lines and electrical work," Spagnoli said, listing the utilities now installed. He also pointed to the parking structure visible from the street and said, "This may be 1 of the last times you see it," explaining that once the apartment building is built it will wrap around and hide the deck from street level.

Spagnoli noted the Foxglove Drive extension, which runs from Town Hall Drive, is beginning to take shape and will curve around the park to Carolina Street. He said materials and equipment are on site and that project teams have made significant progress on infrastructure.

The update did not specify a construction completion date, budgets or permitting milestones. Spagnoli said he expects to provide another update next month.
