Director of Operations Ryan Carruth presented Phase 1 of a capital improvements proposal using HB 521 funds. The PRE requests include HVAC survey work, HVAC repairs and replacements, HVAC controls upgrades, a circulation pump replacement and roof repairs. For PRLHS Carruth proposed HVAC coil assessment, actuated valve replacements, HVAC controls upgrades and a comprehensive roof replacement to address the remaining 44,000 square feet of roof that is past its useful service life.
Carruth told the committee he had decided to go to competitive bid on all projects rather than pursue an Energy Performance Service Contractor, citing cost control and opening opportunities to local contractors consistent with state code and district policy. The minutes record that proposed projects at PLE and IDH are being tabled until May for further consideration.
