Appel suggested a railroad crossings tour at the end of the Feb. 3 meeting, requested an update from the County Attorney on the Johnson junk trial, and led discussion on format and guidelines for the Feb. 11 rifle public hearings. Commissioner Wayne Maras reported damage to a side door at the recycling shed at the fairgrounds and was directed to contact the Solid Waste Administrator. Appel also provided building updates: bids for replacing the Public Health roof are being sought; a Contegrity site visit to the Recycling building and N71 campus is scheduled for Feb. 3; probes will be needed where old fuel tanks were located by the fairgrounds; and he said the county may sell a bare lot by the fairgrounds.
