Cottonwood County approves three-year fuel contract with Staples Oil Company

"Motion by Gravley, second by Maras, unanimous vote to accept the bid from Staples Oil Company, Inc. in the amount of $395,957.20 for fuel and $1,800/year for monitoring and reporting services and $1,800/year for monthly inspections and maintenance," the minutes record. The contract covers fuel supply for county operations from 2026 through 2028, with an option to extend for 2029.
The board did not record competing bids in the meeting minutes. The vote was a standard procurement acceptance; the county's Public Works office will administer the contract and oversee the monitoring and inspection services specified in the award.
