Lake Villa Plan Commission minutes: appointments, minutes approvals and unanimous recommendations March 5, 2026

The Village of Lake Villa Plan Commission met in special session on March 5, 2026, at the Lehmann Mansion. Commissioner Tracy Lucas moved to appoint Commissioner Steve Smart as Chair Pro Tempore for the special meeting; Commissioner Lee Filas seconded and the appointment carried 6-0 by roll voice vote. The meeting was called to order at 6:33 p.m.
The commission approved minutes for the October 2, 2025 meeting and the January 21, 2026 meeting (each motion carried 5-0). Two public hearings were held and both items received favorable recommendations: Cedar Lake Estates (recommendation for final approval; motion by Commissioner Filas, seconded by Commissioner Hope; carried 5-0) and a conditional use permit for a dog training/obedience school at 461 Park Avenue (motion by Commissioner Filas, seconded by Commissioner Hope; carried 5-0). With no further business, Commissioner Brian Hope moved to adjourn; Commissioner Lucas seconded and the meeting adjourned at 7:56 p.m.
