Milford board schedules public hearing on short‑term rental moratorium after resident raises safety concerns

Resident Fred Schaper told the board he is concerned that current rules and follow‑up are insufficient and cited examples where rental listings do not match tax‑roll records (for example, advertisements showing more bedrooms than listed), which he said could create unsafe occupancy levels. Supervisor Partridge noted that, according to the town attorney, even a temporary moratorium requires enactment as a Local Law; Council Member Vera Sosnowski will check with contacts in Oneonta on their process and Senator Gillibrand's office status will be checked regarding related tax exemptions.
